Kaylie, one of our technicians, recently attended a 2 day conference on nutrition hosted by Purina in Richmond BC. Two jam packed days of pet nutrition seminars and presentations on some of the new research that Purina has funded. There was an awesome lecture all about myths and facts to do with pet nutrition! It had a lot of valuable information that really helps to answer questions we all have about pet food. Some of the concerns discussed were questions that we at Burquitlam get all the time. Questions like “Why does this company use by-products?” and “Is corn just a filler?”. All of these concerns that we as “pet-parents” have can help us to make better decisions regarding our pets health.
We were also given a very informative article written by WSAVA. The World Small Animal Veterinary Association (WSAVA) has provided a checklist with questions that pet owners can use when picking out a food for their pet.
Nutrition is a key part of our pet’s lives and the staff at Burquitlam want to help you make informed decisions. Kaylie, in particular, finds nutrition very interesting! If at any time you have any questions about nutrition or what our vets recommend, please contact Kaylie through our contact page.
